The Uptown Witch (The Coven: School of Magical Arts Novella Book 2)
Run an entire school for magic. No pressure, right? Wrong. It’s all pressure. Nothing but pressure. The rest of my Coven got to go home and relax. All I want to do after the last few months is to sit on my couch, eat a whole box of cookies, and binge watch mindless feel-good movies. But apparently that is not on my to-do list. To top it all off…it’s Christmas season. In Manhattan. And I get to host the Yule Ball…

This is the second in the School of Magical Arts series. We follow Emersyn and Deacon as they prepare for the first Yule ball to be held at the school. Things are going well at the school and everyone is settling in well. Not only are Witches attending the school but Shifters too which caused separation between them at first. Caroline and Noah take control of the situation and everyone is fine. Emersyn gets s surprise, or a shock, when someone from her past shows up as a student at the school. We witness Deacon and Emersyn’s relationship deepen and grow along with their soulmate glyph.

Chandelle is a talented writer. She pulls you into the stories and makes it impossible for the reader to put a book down and as usual, I read this one quickly. The characters are well developed and the story flows well. It is written from different points of view in the first person. If you are a fan of Harry Potter or the Mortal Instruments, I believe you would enjoy this series. Now I patiently wait for the next book in the series, The Empire Witch.
