The Echoes of Love
The story begins in Venice in 2000. Venita is walking home in the evening during Carnival when she is approached by two strangers in masks and cloaks. They try to steal her purse, but she fights them. All of a sudden there is shouting, and a man comes to her rescue causing the attackers to run away. Paolo Barone is a charismatic man and convinces Venita to have a hot chocolate to come down after the incident.
Their paths cross several times without more an acknowledge until the fancy-dress ball. Venita has been working on Roberto’s house for a while and this is the night of the unveiling. He introduces her to Paolo not realizing the two have previously meet.
The book is written in third person past tense. The story flows well and the characters are developed. You can feel the passion that runs between the two of them whenever they are near each other. If you like romance stories, you will probably enjoy this one.
