Many in the area are dying of mysterious deaths and Lowry needs a healer to find out the cause. In return for her healing services, Lowry will pledge assistance to her Queen Isabela in the war with Versia.

The book is written in third person point of view. The characters are developed, and the story has a steady pace. If you enjoy books about magic with a twist of mystery, you will like this book.
