Sian and Emily are 10 years old and leave school early to see ponies. Emily has a friend that would take them to see the ponies. They meet him in the nearby woods and disappear. This is the first book in the Detective Karen Hart series. The story is fast paced and written in the third person point of view. The characters are well developed but I am sure we will find out more about Karen’s life as the series progresses. I like the author’s writing style and look forward to reading the rest of the series. If you like strong women lead characters you will love this series.
