Crystal and Scott are on their honeymoon heading to Paris. During their layover in Atlanta, their plane is delayed, and the airline puts them up in a hotel. They are approached by a businessman who offers them his suite in exchange for their room. They are excited to do it and are thrilled at the size of the suite. While Crystal is having a shower, there is a knock at the door and Scott assumes it is room service. He gets a terrible shock when a Haitian man with a hacksaw is at the door calling him a thief. The guy had a list with names on it and the last name is Xanadu Marx.

Xanadu Marx is a disgraced former FBI agent. She was relieved from duty when she ran into a house while intoxicated. She is almost one year sober and living with her girlfriend Em. The police come to her apartment and begin questioning her about the incident at the hotel and she offers her assistance. They know her reputation – she is tough, goes off the rails, but gets results.

The book is fast paced, the characters are well developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. There are so many twists to the story and false leads. I had no idea where it was going and who was the bad guy. I was so captivated I had to stay up and finish it. If you like strong women characters like Samantha Brinkman by Marcia Clark, Eva Driscoll by Alan McDermott, or Alice Vega by Louisa Luna, you will definitely enjoy this book.
