Immediately after, she and her bodyguard, Shem, are attacked. The priests are concerned about her potential power, so they conduct tests on her. Perkar dreams of being a warrior. He too has a connection to an elemental power. With his sword he goes on a quest to conquer evil. What he finds surprises him.
The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. It was easy to connect to the characters while they grew into themselves. If you like sci fi and fantasy books you may like this one.
