This is the second book in the Cerulean Chronicles. It begins in the past and gives a quick look into how the orphanage came into being what it is today. The story then jumps to the present time with all the characters from the previous book. This was just a sneak peek and now I cannot wait to read (but especially listen) to the rest of the book. The narrator does an amazing job bringing personality to all the different characters.
I love the writing style of this author. It is light and funny at times but also shows the darkness that lies within some people. The characters are well developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. If you like Miss Peregrine’s House of Peculiar Children, you will enjoy reading this.
