Hekate is a young immortal. Her mother, Asteria, asked the river goddess, Styx, to keep her safe after the ware of the Titans and the Olympians. She grows in the Underworld with her friends: Charon, the Ferryman. Cerberus, the three headed dog, and Thanatos, the God of Peaceful Death. After meeting one of the Moira, Hekate goes on an adventure to find her purpose in life. She meets Hermes and he helps her along the way. She also meets Kronos, who tried to imprison her and Nyx, the goddess of Night and Darkness.
The book has a fast pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. This is a coming-of-age type story. I like her character and how she defies the Hades, Styx and the other immortals to find out more about herself.
