Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: The Workbook: A Toolkit for Editing Your Story and Changing Your Life
This workbook is divided into six chapters.
Chapter one: An unreliable narrator walks into a bar: Looking bolding at your story
Chapter two: Reading between the lines: Finding flexibility in your narratives
Chapter three: What lies beneath: Uncovering themes and patterns in our stories
Chapter four: Connecting the dots on connection: Getting closer to ourselves by getting closer to others
Chapter five: Deepest fears, highest hopes: The ultimate concerns
Chapter six: Unpeeling your hands from the bars: Moving from insight to Action
This book is a companion book to Lori’s book, “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone.” Each chapter has an example of a patient’s session followed by prompts and exercises. I had to think about the questions she asks because they go deeper than I expected. I enjoyed going through this workbook but highly recommend reading the book first so you can appreciate the patients’ stories. When I first started this book, I thought it was going to be a book that just scratched the surface. I was so wrong. This book would be good for anyone that would like to evaluate their lives and find ways to improve their situations.
