I enjoy reading books like this one There are many stories happening simultaneously. Jian is believed to be the chosen hero to defeat the immortal god-king the Eternal Khan. Tashi is a grand master Wind Whisperer. She was brought to evaluate Jian’s skills. When the Khan is killed by another, the prophecy is declared broken and Jian is no longer needed. Saliminde is known as the Viperstrike and the Will of Khan. She was supposed to surrender her life when he died but instead she became a Soul Seeker looking for the next incarnate of the Khan. Qiasmi is a Shadowkiller, an assassin hired to find and kill Jian.

Each character is fully developed and the story, although slow at times, is well-paced and action packed. I laughed out loud at some of the dialogue especially from Tashi and Qiasmi. With everyone being a rival, I was not looking forward to seeing any of them dying. They each had a cause to fight for. This is the first book in the War Arts Saga and I look forward to reading the next installment.
