When we last saw Yvette at the end of the Vine Witch, she disappeared with Sidra. Now they are in Paris. Apparently, Yvette stole a wish to find out about her family and her magic and this caused them to arrive in the city. Sidra is annoyed because she is now bound to the city. Still on the run since they broke out of prison, Yvette goes back to her childhood home, a brothel. Elena, the vine witch, is in Paris with her fiancé to meet his mother. She sees Yvette and wants to help her. This is the beginning of their next adventure.

The book is written in third person point of view. The story is fast pace, and the characters are well developed. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
