Does true love break curses, or begin them? Sleeping Beauty’s dark sorceress reclaims her story in this sequel to Malice. The Dark Grace is dead. Feared and despised for the sinister power in her veins, Alyce wreaks her revenge on the kingdom that made her an outcast. Once a realm of decadence and beauty, Briar is now wholly Alyce’s wicked domain. And no one will escape the consequences of her wrath. Not even the one…

In the first book, we met Princess Aurora and the Dark Grace Alyce. Aurora is cursed to sleep and the court is dismantled. One hundred years has passed and Alyce, now called Nimara after the first Vela, is still trying to find a way to wake up the princess. She has taken over Briar and renamed it the Dark Court. There are representatives from all the races previously cast out by the Briar court. When a young human man washes ashore, everything changes and chaos reigns.

This book is the sequel to Malice. It is fast paced, the characters are well developed, and written in the first-person point of view. The author does an excellent job describing the landscape and scenery. I was pulled into the story and hooked until the end. Although I liked Malice better, I thought this book and the ending was perfect. If you enjoy fairy tales with a twist, I think you would like to read this one.
