Matiah Blood is a dreamwitch and works from the House of Dreams. She enjoys helping the police interrogate criminals during investigations. She reads a letter from Lord Montgomery about his nephew suffering from nightmares and wants to help. She travels to Camdyn, a city where dreamwitches are still hunted although illegally. The Wolford manor is not as grand inside as it is on the outside. The house seems to be affected by Otis Montgomery. He lives in the house with his uncle after the deaths of his parents. He is haunted by nightmares and seems to be wasting away. Matiah must do what she can to help Otis while she is losing herself to her guard Atlas.
The book has a fast pace. The characters are well developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. If you enjoy books by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, you will enjoy reading this book.
