Ellie is driving to her parent’s house. She took a detour and doesn’t know where she is. She also realizes she does not have cell phone service. She sees a woman standing in the road and tries to stop but does not have any brakes. After the collision, she gets out and only finds a tree across the road. The woman is gone. Before she can do anything, Henry, driving a pickup truck, runs into the back of her car. Together they start looking for help. They see and hear things in the forest. Each faces their worst nightmare — for Ellie it is an active shooter situation and for Henry, it is zombies. They see a sign for a bar and although it looks run down, it is charming inside. The bartender is washing glasses and there is a woman sitting at the bar that looks eerily similar to the woman Ellie saw in the road. The next ones to arrive at the bar are Caleb and Noemi followed by Raymond. Each one must face their demons to survive the night.

The book is fast paced, the characters are somewhat developed, and it is written in the first person point of view. This book has a very strong Stephen King feel to it. If you like creepy stories that will keep you reading all night, this would be a book to read.
