Morris Markey is a newspaper man. One night he sees Mr. Joseph Elwell arriving home at 2 am with a young woman in a green dress. In the morning, Mr. Elwell is found dead by his housekeeper. Morris goes to the hotel where F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald are staying to ask questions since they travelled in the same societal circles as the dead man. Zelda is taken with the case and joins Morris on his investigation questioning witnesses.

The characters in the story are based on actual people but as the author states, did not meet as written in the book. The story has a steady pace, the characters are well developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. After reading this book, I wanted to learn more about Zelda Fitzgerald.
