Elin Jonsdottir is a famous crime writer in Iceland. When she disappears, her publisher, Rut, asks the police to investigate. Since Helgi Reykdall loves books, his supervisor assigns him to the case. The case is not as straightforward as he thought. He must sift through all the lies to find out the truth. In his personal life, he is in a budding relationship with Anita. Unfortunately, his ex-girlfriend, Bergthora, still believes they are a couple and begins to visit Anita unannounced.
The book seems to have a slow pace, the characters are somewhat developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. The end is too abrupt. I know there is another book coming but I did not expect this book to end this way. I like the multiple narrators especially the interview portions.
