Betty, the leader of the neighborhood watch program, goes to George’s house after numerous complaints of baking. She sees the state George is in. She calls the doctor and gets going cleaning and cooking. She brings her dog Lucky over as a friend for Poppy.
Dan is a counselor and his cousin Luke a teacher. They are planning to compete in an Ironman race with their dogs Fitz and Wolfie. Lizzie and her son are living in a women’s refuge. She is taking care of Maud, the refuge owner’s dog.
The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. Each person has a story which intertwines with their dog. If you like general fiction with a sprinkling of dogs, you may enjoy reading this book.
