Margaret (Meg) has a rare disease. Her rheumatologist asks if she is interested in participating in an experimental study specific for her disease. She agrees to join knowing the study will use unconventional treatments. Meg has doubts all the way until they hook up her I.V., but she does not have any other treatment options. When one nurse tells her if she cannot handle the pain at the early stages that she should leave the trial, she gets annoyed. Little did she know what was ahead for her.
It is hard to describe this story. It is a medical drama, but could it be classified as sci-fi/fantasy too with the hallucinations? The pace is slow, the characters are underdeveloped, and it is written in the first-person point of view. Overall, it is a bizarre story.
