Major Gabriel Ramsey oversees the operation to identify the traitor and intercept the transaction. Since Ellie is a safecracker, he takes her to a fancy gathering at Lord Nigel’s mansion in hopes of retrieving the documents. She is also interested in finding information into her mother’s incarceration.
The story has a fast pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. Ellie is a plucky woman with a sarcastic tongue. This story reminds me of an Agatha Christie story with Hercule Poirot. If you like historical mysteries, you will enjoy reading this one.
