Being Essential: Seven Questions for Living and Leading with Radical Self-Awareness
This book poses seven questions to the reader.
Where are you?
Why are you here?
Who are you being?
What do you want?
What wants to happen?
What don’t you know?
How does it feel?
By answering these questions, the reader can try to find their authentic, essential self. I found the section on wearing masks very noteworthy point. We are all wearing masks and until we are at the point of our lives when we are reading to take them off, who are we really? Another important point is the fact that our senses take place in our brain instead of our eyes, ears, hands, etc. That was an ah-ha moment for me.
Although this is a small book, the message is substantial. Read the book, answer the questions, and prepare to take off your mask. Your essential self is waiting. The author has a very easy to ready writing style. I found myself immersed immediately and couldn’t stop reading until I finished. It is an excellent book for anyone interested in becoming the better version of themselves.
