Son of Saigon
Hank is coping with the loss of his wife Becka. He and his friend Norm are bachelors in a retirement community where women outnumber men three to one. One evening, Hank gets an unexpected visitor. A beautiful Vietnamese woman is standing in the lobby. As Hank gets closers, he recognizes her as Mai, the only other woman he ever loved.
When Hank was stationed in Viet Nam while working for the CIA, he met and fell in love with Mai. She was young and violence was on the rise. When the Americans were leaving the country, Hank delivered money to Mai to help her get out of the city. Once he was back in the United States, he searched for her but her trail was cold. Now Mai was standing here in front of him.
Mai tells him they have a son, Hank Jr, and she needs her help. Hank Jr has been missing for almost 40 years. He disappeared the day after his high school graduation. Hank owned and operated a security company and agrees to help. Mai gives him high school yearbooks and private detective reports. As Hank plans his road trip, Norm decides to join him.
They meet several of Jr’s classmates and they have a hard time picking out the truth from the lies. One thing is certain, something drastic happened the night before graduation on Mount Wilson. Hank is determined to solve the mystery of the past to help find his son.
The book is written in third person point of view and in the present tense with flashback memories. The book is fast paced and the characters are developed. The author’s writing style is easy to read and kept me in engaged. If you enjoy stories by Lee Child or Tom Clancy, you will like this book.

David Myles Robinson grew up in Pasadena, CA. He holds degrees from San Francisco State University and the University of San Francisco School of Law. After practicing law for thirty-eight years in Honolulu, Hawaii, he retired with his wife, former Honolulu judge Marcia Waldorf, to Taos, NM. Robinson is the author of three previous novels: legal thrillers Tropical Lies and Tropical Judgments, and Unplayable Lie, a golf-related suspense novel.
