Shakti was a young girl when her family was destroyed by an earthquake in 1993. She helped the rescue efforts and took shelter with a neighbor. She overheard the neighbor offering to sell her. She was fearful to stay any longer and planned her escape. Years later, Shaki is a flight attendant living with her friend Kriya but when Kriya goes missing, she becomes the main suspect. She begins investigating on her own not knowing she is putting herself in danger.
Shiva was a young man living in San Francisco. His boss made an announcement that their company was going to sue a competitor. This action could have devastating effects for their company. He calls his father in India for advice. Shiva decided to leave the company and start his own with two friends. They go out looking for capital and find an investor with on requirement. The investor wants an office in India.
The two of them lead separate lives until they intersect in an airport. It was love at first sight, but they were like two ships passing in the night. Will they ever be in the same place at the same time? The story feels long and drags in some places and feel farfetched. The characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. I really had high hopes for this book but it felt more like a young adult story as opposed to adult fiction.
