Trevelle, a hacker in Miami, receives a call from a friend in New York asking about an encrypted file. When he asks the friend to resend it, it sets things into motion. His base of operation is attacked and a friend executed. He contacts Jon Reznick about the situation and asks for help. They meet in New York and go to the friend’s place only to find him hanging. The file is a kill order for a security accountant for the government, Rosalind Dyer. The two men travel to Washington D.C. to covertly meet Rosalind. She is set to testify in front of a senate committee to present her findings in 72 hours. The problem: someone high up does not want that to happen. It is a cat and mouse game between Reznick and the people he is protecting from an unknown organization.
The story has a fast pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. I found it to be fully engaging and a quick read. If you like fiction about government coverups or action/adventure stories, you may enjoy reading this one.
