The four siblings are not close. In fact, Sola has not been in contact with her brother Ola since she left the house as a teen. She is out at a bar hoping to connect with a well-to-do man. On the way to his place, in the back of a taxi, she hears a familiar voice – her father. They go for coffee and a talk. He convinces her to come home for Thanksgiving dinner. Things do not go as planned and no one is on their best behavior. Their father leaves the house in a huff. Now the family has to pick up the pieces and learn to get along.
The book has a steady pace, the characters are well developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. I like authors who write stories with flawed characters. They feel real to me. If you have siblings or if you just enjoy reading about family relationships, you may enjoy reading this book.
