She is given the position of concierge for a family. She meets other workers, but the crew seem divided. Some feel sorry for her and want to help but others want to see her fail. She works hard to win over others. Her goal is to pass the test, get off the ship, and get better working conditions for the crew.
The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. Ro is a strong character, and I was cheering her on along the way. If you like sci fi & fantasy books, you may enjoy this book.
