Laura Evans has been the manager of the Silver Springs General Store café. She has only been in town a few months and has already helped solve a murder during the summer cheese festival. It is now apple season and another murder. Vernon Reed, a co owner of an apple farm is found murdered. A worker, Izzy Lennox, is charged with the murder since his fingerprints are on the murder weapon and he was seen arguing with Vernon before his death. Laura must put on her sleuthing hat again. She has assistance from her landlady, Evelyn, and coworker, Jasmine. Together the three of them and the help of the Maplewood crafters find solve this who done it.

The story has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. This is the second book in the series. Laura reminds me of a younger version of Ms. Fletcher from Murder, She Wrote. The characters are quirky and although there is some tenson between a few residents, the small-town charm comes through in abundance. It makes me want to find a small town to move to. I look forward to the next book in the series.
