Willamena “Wills” Wester was a teenager trapped in her grandmother’s life. Her grandmother was known as the Witch of Wester. She kept a thumb on Wills and knew everything that went on in town. Wills was supposed to marry her cousin Terrence Wester to keep the family name. That was all fine and good until Andy Smooth and the Silks came to town and Wills met Jack Vaughn.
Wills is now an old woman and has become the Witch of Wester. Her son, Terrence, known as Tug, has returned home with his young daughter Bailey. Wills, now Min, wants to control Bailey’s life as her grandmother did hers. She doesn’t want Bailey to make the same mistakes she did. Unfortunately, history has a way of repeating itself.
The story has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. The story moves through the generations of characters.
