Anyone can enter. During training, she meets Erik, a fellow competitor. They begin having feelings for each other. Kara did not expect this trip to lead to a Viking style competition or falling for a boy in this small village.
The story has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. If you like young adult fiction with a competition, you may enjoy reading this book.
