This book is set in a world like medieval times. There are royals and commoners, and I enjoyed the different threads of stories. A dictator, Imperator Elgar, has taken over more lands. King Kelken, Arianrod Margraine and Adora Avestri all make their appearances.
The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. This is the third and final book in the Paths of Lantistyne series. There is magic and sword fighting galore. If you like fantasy kingdom stories, you will enjoy reading this book but I highly recommend you read the first two books in the series first.
